Realized I hadn’t posted a couple of these here yet! Will throw some up over the course of the next couple days. This was a commission for @apogeeaardwolf on Twitter, from my VHS series last year!

I love designing fake skater stuff. It’s an aesthetic language all its own. Props to Apogee for coming up with the “AW” logo design, which everything else pretty much crystallized around.

Belated post for Witchsona / “Meet The Artist” week on Twitter, which apparently occurred simultaneously. I decided to save time and do one piece for both.

2017 is already turning out to be a howling nightmare of a year, but we’re not alone and we all have the power to help each other. I’m going to put my everything into protecting the people I care about this year. I suggest you do the same.

It’s been a while since our last fur con, hasn’t it? Well, the wait is over.

NEW AND EXCLUSIVE FOR FURTHER CONFUSION 2017 FROM IRIS JAY SUPER COMICS: ICON BADGES!! Yes, after years of experimentation and struggle, we FINALLY figured out how to get real reflective gold foil on a badge!

These things are so fancy they’re practically jewelry: Four types of ink on grey-toned paper, knife-cut by hand and assembled on shiny reflective gold-patterned paper! The ideal badge for those who want to give their character a touch of class… or who are just helplessly attracted to shiny things. (IT’S 2017 AND IT’S COOL TO BE SINCERELY INTO SHINY STUFF AGAIN. CALM DOWN NAYSAYERS.) I’m only taking orders for these at FC’17, so once the con ends, that’s it!

They’re running for $50 each, and we’re doing something a little different with these: 20% of all profits will be donated to Planned Parenthood! I’ve made about seventy billion zillion badges in the nearly 9 years since I started going to furry conventions, I might as well start using them to give something back to a fantastic network of caregivers who need it right now. Get some cool art and help out in the process!

I have juuuust enough time for three pre-orders before the con starts. If you’d like one, hit me up irisjaycomics [at] gmail and I’ll have it ready for you by Friday at Further Confusion, table #89! (Or, if you aren’t attending, I’ll mail yours to you afterwards!)

Another Crossed Wires Volume 1 guest piece! This one is by Aramis September, longtime friend and MASTER INKER. Look at that beautiful linework!! AGH SCHIELE LOOKS SO COMPLETELY COOL.

Remember, you have only three weeks left to preorder a delightful physical printed copy of Crossed Wires Volume 1 (as well as any of our nifty campaign perks)! Currently we’re still stuck at juuuuuust under 30% funded, so please help if you can– even sharing with your friends would be super useful. Thanks!

Our first featured piece of guest art for Crossed Wires Volume 1! This one is by Talbert Johnson, whose work can be found at http://whatatinybug.tumblr.com. As seen here, his crisp, enticing cartooning skills are only matched by his twisted, sadistic mind. How COULD you, Talbert? First you bricked up all the bathrooms in the house, and now THIS?? (Seriously, though: Thank you so much!)

ALSO, UPDATE: We finally broke $1000, which means we’re 1/6th of the way there! YAY! Also, we’ve been chosen as a “PROJECTS WE LOVE” on Kickstarter, which means we’ll pop up on the front page every so often! There’s no such thing as bad publicity, but good publicity is preferable, and this is some great publicity.

Let’s keep up the pace! I’ll upload another guest piece when we hit $2K! Remember to keep an eye on my Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook accounts for more updates. I’ve kind of been trying to get #CrossedWires started as a hashtag, so if you want to talk about it with other XW fans that’s a good way to start! And if you think you know friends who are into webcomics, queer literature, hacking, cyberpunk stuff, or just a good-ass time, send them our way!

ONCE AGAIN, YOU CAN FIND THE CROSSED WIRES VOLUME 1 KICKSTARTER HERE: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/irisjay/crossed-wires-volume-1

An illustration done for the Crossed Wires Volume 1 Kickstarter campaign! This will be a campaign-exclusive 2-inch button for $55-tier backers and up. The piece is inspired by this t-shirt of Alan’s from Chapter 01— a little obscure, but something I’ve wanted to do a hi-res version of since forever. Alan probably owns at least more than one computer-related BAD DOGZ t-shirt.

Our Kickstarter campaign goes until November 9th! We’ve got plenty of cool perks up for grabs, as well as the printed books themselves! Please consider helping us birth our beautiful book baby by checking out the KS page HERE: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/irisjay/crossed-wires-volume-1
